Self Care Rituals We Love

Midlife is a bitch. These easy rituals help to take the edge off, make time for you and bring the tension level way down. If these feel too woo-woo for you ( we are based in Los Angeles, after all) try a simple walk - it always does a body and brain a whole lotta good!

Moonlight Meditation: Find a quiet spot outdoors on a clear evening and sit comfortably under the moonlight. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and visualize the moon's gentle energy infusing you with tranquility and clarity.

Herbal Foot Soak: Fill a basin with warm water and add a handful of dried lavender buds, rose petals, or chamomile flowers. Soak your feet in this aromatic blend while practicing deep breathing and mindfulness. Feel the soothing properties of the herbs grounding and revitalizing you.

Scented Bath Infusion: Enhance your bathing experience by creating a personalized bath infusion. Add a few drops of essential oils such as lavender, jasmine, or ylang-ylang to a carrier oil like almond or jojoba. Mix well and add a small amount to your bathwater, allowing the fragrances to uplift and calm your senses.

Affirmation Mirror Ritual: Stand in front of a mirror and look into your own eyes. Repeat empowering affirmations, such as "I am worthy of love and happiness" or "I embrace my inner strength and resilience." Repeat them several times, truly believing in the positive messages you're affirming.

Sacred Sound Bath: Set aside a few minutes each day to immerse yourself in healing sound vibrations. Play soothing instrumental music or use a singing bowl, gently striking it and allowing the resonating sound to fill the space. Close your eyes, focus on the sound, and let it wash away any stress or tension.

Journaling Gratitude Ritual: Create a gratitude journal and dedicate a few minutes each day to write down three things you're grateful for. Reflect on the positive aspects of your life and express appreciation for them. This practice cultivates a sense of abundance and contentment.

Nature Connection Ritual: Find a quiet spot in nature, such as a park or garden. Sit or lie down, and close your eyes. Tune in to the sounds around you—the rustling of leaves, chirping of birds, or the gentle breeze. Connect with the natural world, grounding yourself in its beauty and serenity.

Candlelight Reflection: Light a scented candle and dim the lights in your space. Sit comfortably, focusing on the flame's gentle glow. Take deep breaths, reflecting on your emotions and thoughts. Allow the candle's flickering light to guide you to a place of inner calm and self-awareness.

Energy Clearing Ritual: Open the windows of your living space and let fresh air flow through. Light a bundle of dried sage or palo santo, and walk through each room, allowing the smoke to cleanse and purify the space. Set the intention of releasing any stagnant or negative energy, inviting in positivity and clarity.

Remember, self-care rituals are deeply personal, so feel free to modify these suggestions to suit your preferences and needs. Enjoy the process of discovering what resonates with you and nourishes your soul.
